Nature Walks in Australia

Hiking in the reserve is a fantastic way to fully appreciate the rich diversity of Australia's plant life, as well as encountering many of its indigenous animals. Creeks and rivers pass through the reserve, and some have swimming holes. There's also an abundance of secluded spots in the Wolgan Valley, allowing for a nap in the shade of a tree or time to lie back and listen to the sounds of birdlife.

Beyond the reserve there are numerous paths and nature walks in the Blue Mountains, and Field Guides can provide transport from the resort to each of these starting points.

They can also arrange for pick-ups and refreshments; but as this region is truly a wilderness area, it is asked that guests do not attempt any of the trails outside of the reserve without first advising resort staff.

The resort's Field Guides and Guest Services Agents can organise all activities and recommend the most suitable trails. GPS devices, radios or mobile phones are available, so that contact can be maintained in case of emergency. Guests should wear appropriate footwear, a hat and sun block, and carry an adequate supply of water.

For the creatively inclined, there are plenty of ideal places to set up an easel and canvas, and the Guides will even arrange for a gourmet picnic lunch to be sent to the chosen outdoor location. This service is also available for photographic excursions.
