Dubai is the second largest of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates and is arguably the most successful growth story in modern history.

Dubai boasts the most luxurious hotels anywhere in the world, not to mention world-class entertainment and sporting events. Dubai is perhaps best known for its ambitious mega-construction projects, such as The World and Palm Islands, two projects on a scale never seen before anywhere else in the world.

Dubai enjoys an arid subtropical climate and visitors are promised sunshine and blue skies all-year round. The hottest months are between June and September, the coolest between December and March.

Dubai has a population of 1.2 million and is unique in that the majority of its population are expatriates. The official language of Dubai is Arabic, but English is spoken widely as are many other languages. The majority religion of Dubai is Islam, but other world religions are widely practiced.
