Ten years ago, the story of Emirates and Al Maha began. That story marked the beginning of Emirates' active role in preserving the many examples of wildlife, flora and fauna that are being threatened by fast-paced industrial development. Through its collaboration with the Government of Dubai in the creation of the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, Emirates has been fortunate enough to be involved in one of the most rewarding programmes in recent conservation history.

Keeping in line with the philosophy behind the Emirates Conservation Programme is the latest addition to its expanding portfolio of resorts - Wolgan Valley Resort & Spa. The Australian resort, set within the Greater Blue Mountains region, occupies just two percent of the 4,000 acres of private wildlife and conservation reserve it lives in. Through its extensive re-vegetation programme with the Australian Eco Foundation Inc (AEFCI), the property is already labelled as the nation’s most environmentally responsible tourism offering.

Currently in its design stage, Cap Ternay Resort & Spa in Seychelles will also add to the ever expanding portfolio of Emirates Hotels and Resorts' dedication to conservation. Jointly managed with Seychelles' Department of Environment, the Cap Matoopa Reserve and Marine Sanctuary, this resort will have an intensively managed wildlife reserve to conserve valuable marine life and threatened land species found on these islands.
