Hotel Booking Conditions

General

These terms and conditions are applicable to all guests at Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa ("Al Maha")

Bookings, cancellations and charges

  • All bookings are subject to availability, and Al Maha shall be entitled to refuse any booking on reasonable grounds.
  • Charges will be at the quoted rates, on the terms set out in connection with the quoted rate, and may exclude taxes, service charges and items of a like nature where specified.
  • Advance bookings require payment of a deposit equal to the charge for the first night's stay, and will not be confirmed until receipt of such payment. The rate for the total stay must be guaranteed by credit card or paid in full before arrival. Such amounts may be forfeited in the event of cancellation, amendment or failure to check in on the specified date, in accordance with the terms shown below.
  • Cancellation or booking amendment resulting in a shorter stay at any time after 1400 hours on the 30th day prior to arrival shall incur a charge equivalent to the cost of the first night's stay. Cancellation or booking amendment resulting in a shorter stay at any time after 1400 hours on the 7th day prior to arrival shall result in the booking being charged in full at the original rate.
  • Other alterations to booking details may result in a rate change.
  • All outstanding charges are to be paid upon check-out.

Hotel Regulations

  • Check in time is from 1400 hours
  • Check out time is 1200 noon, later check out may result in a late departure fee or an additional night being charged.
  • All airport and land transfers have to be confirmed by the concierge and will be charged upon check out.
  • The transfer vehicle is a Cadillac Escalade Luxury four-wheel drive and suitable for up to three guests and four pieces of luggage.
  • Al Maha's drivers are instructed to wait for one hour before the guest is considered a no-show. Guest are requested to inform the resort in advance in case of any delays in their arrival time. Transfers cancelled within less than 24 hours of expected arrival time will incur a 100% cancellation charge.
  • If you are flying First or Business Class with Emirates Airline, you may be entitled to complimentary transfer service between the airport and Al Maha. We urge you to check with Emirates Airline if this service is applicable to you
  • Pets or other animals, with the exception of service animals (who must be approved in advance; such approval will be conditional on the animal being leashed and under the owner's control at all times) may not be brought onto the premises or into the grounds.
  • Guests shall comply with all rules, regulations and instructions at Al Maha, including but not limited to security procedures, health and safety procedures and registration requirements
  • Al Maha shall be entitled to refuse a guest entry or accommodation or to require a guest to leave the premises if unreasonable behaviour is displayed, be it threatening or abusive, causing disturbance to other guests or otherwise unacceptable
  • A safe is available in each room for the storage of valuables as a service to guests; however Al Maha will not accept liability for loss or damage to those items.
  • Suites, other than the Royal Suite, Emirates Suite and Presidential Suite do not accommodate more than two guests, including children of 12 or over, and guests may not permit additional guests to spend the night in any suite.

Child Policy:

  • Al Maha unfortunately does not cater for children under 12 years of age. Children of 12 years and above shall be treated as adults.

Limitation of liability

  • In the event that rooms of the category specified in the booking are unavailable on check-in, Al Maha shall, at Al Maha's discretion, upgrade the guest to a higher room category (where available), provide the guest with a lower room category and compensation for the difference in cost (where available), or transfer the guest at Al Maha's cost to an alternative hotel of a similar standard and shall be responsible for any additional costs incurred as a result of the transfer.
  • Al Maha shall not be liable for failure or delay in delivering obligations under the booking contract if the cause of the failure or delay is due to reasons beyond its control. These include, but are not limited to: war or threat of war, civil or political action or disturbance, riot, natural disaster, fire, epidemic, bad weather, terrorist activity (threatened or actual), military activity, governmental or regulatory action, industrial dispute, failure of power or machinery, failure of or interruption in externally provided services and utilities.
  • Al Maha shall not be liable for any loss of or damage to a guest's property which is:
    • caused or contributed to by the negligence of the guest or a reason of the type listed in the preceding paragraph; or
    • Not promptly reported to Al Maha on discovery
  • Al Maha shall not be liable for loss of or damage to a guest's property except where caused through the negligence or wilful misconduct of Al Maha.
  • Al Maha does not accept any liability for loss or damage to a guest's vehicle unless caused by Al Maha's negligence or wilful misconduct
  • Guests shall be liable for any loss, damage or personal injury they may cause at Al Maha

Property Disclaimer:

  • Al Maha is set within a natural wildlife reserve containing fauna and flora that may be dangerous if at close contact. Whilst every effort is made by the staff and management of Al Maha to ensure the safety of its guests, guests acknowledge as a condition of making their bookings that neither Al Maha nor any of its staff shall be liable for the death or injury of any of its guests or for any direct, indirect or consequential loss or damage whatsoever (save where caused by the negligence or wilful misconduct of Al Maha) suffered by any of its guests arising out of or in connection with use of the facilities and activities offered by the Resort, in particular (but not limited to) these involving wildlife, and the guest, by making a booking, releases Al Maha and its staff from all or any such liability

Lost Property

  • Lost and found items will remain on Al Maha's premises for a period of 6 months, after which time they will then be sent to Dubai Police for a further 3 months, as per local government regulations. Any perishable goods (such as food, beverages or personal care items) will be disposed of immediately. In the case of large amounts of jewellery, money, or any suspicious or banned items, Al Maha is obliged to contact the police immediately, and await their instructions.
  • To claim any lost and found items, a guest should first contact Al Maha. Should contact be made more than 6 months after the item concerned was found, Al Maha will forward the relevant contact details of the police station, along with reference details of the item to the guest. These will need to be taken to the police station by the guest personally for collection.
