More than 2,000 original artefacts from the UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and all over the Middle East grace the walls and floors at Al Maha, making it one of the largest private art collections in the UAE.
Water and date jars can be found at most doorways and in the beds that line the tiny road between the suites; chests sit at the end of every bed and ornate Omani doors in heavy wood are framed in glass tables.
From the wildlife of Trevor De Pattenden's pictures and Werner Branz desert landscapes, to striking pastel portraits by R Van Meerbeeck, callographs by Saadia Zaman as well as Susan Walpole's silk screens and historic photographs from the late Wilfred Thesiger, there is something to suit most artistic palates.
