Wider Desert Experiences

We offer a wide variety of resort activities on-site, but appreciate that sometimes you may wish to explore further into the surrounding countryside. On request, our dedicated Guest Relations Coordinators will arrange a variety of exciting off-site activities for you to enjoy.

Managed and operated by specialist safari operators, Arabian Adventures can provide you with some diverse tours to the Hajar Mountains, Hatta Pools, or even a shopping trip to Dubai or Abu Dhabi.

Breathe in the invigorating air as you find yourself amidst the jagged peaks of the nearby Hajar Mountains, which can be seen from the resort. Reaching heights of up to 2,000 meters at its highest point, experience an adventurous afternoon exploring the dramatic canyons, deep gorges and rocky valleys, all teeming with wonderful wildlife.

As well as intriguing rock formations and rugged shale, there are numerous Wadis (dry river beds) to discover and as you follow the steep winding tracks you can enjoy the thrill that off-road driving provides.

Hatta is a 200-year old settlement nestled at the foot of the Hajar Mountain range with a well preserved heritage village and fortress, showing life as it was in old times. The nearby Hatta Pools also provide another fascinating destination to explore, with their incredible rock formations carved by the flow of water across the centuries.

Alternatively, you can take an excursion into the desert between Hatta and Dubai and visit Fossil Rock, named after the marine life fossils found there, and Camel Rock, two favourite off-road destinations.

Al Ain, in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and the spiritual home of the capital's ruling Al Nahyan family can be traced back through several million years. Renowned for its lush green landscapes and spacious urban design, the city which at 12,955 square kilometres is the largest in the United Arab Emirates is considered the ‘Garden City of the Gulf'.

With a slower pace of life to Dubai, you can spend a relaxing afternoon at a variety of picturesque sights, including Jebel Hafeet, the highest mountain in the UAE, which overlooks the city, the fortress museum and ancient forts and burial tombs.
