Since Al Maha is a conservation reserve, this activity is conducted outside of the reserve, into the vast dune fields on our doorstep.
As a small convoy vehicles track up and down the dunes, inevitably getting stuck, a part of the fun is 'digging out', and enjoying the soft sand under your feet before you’re back in the car and off again.
For a more gentle desert encounter with smaller dunes, and closer to the resort, our guides are happy to take you out for a slightly more serene experience, which still offers a great deal of fun.
